What are AN fittings and why are they used in performance applications?

AN fittings are high-performance connectors used for fuel, oil, coolant, and air systems. They provide superior sealing, pressure resistance, and reusability, making them ideal for motorsport and high-stress environments.

Do you offer AN fittings in different colours?

Yes! AJM Fittings is the only supplier in South Africa offering fittings in six unique anodized colours, allowing you to customize your build like never before.

Are AJM fittings compatible with all hose types?

Absolutely. We supply swivel, PTFE, and push-loc hose ends compatible with rubber, nylon braided, and PTFE hoses, all available through our store.

Can I use your fittings for marine or aviation builds?

Yes. Our fittings are made from high-grade CNC-machined aluminium, resistant to corrosion and suitable for marine and aeronautical use, pending proper certification.

Can your fittings be reused after disassembly?

Yes. All AJM AN hose ends (except push-loc) are designed for reusability. Inspect for thread damage or O-ring wear before reinstallation.

What hose types do you stock?

We stock a full range including PTFE stainless braided, nylon braided, rubber, Teflon, and push-loc hoses, suitable for fuel, oil, coolant, and air.

How do I choose the right fittings for my build?

Visit our product pages or contact us directly. We’ll guide you on fitting sizes, angles, hose compatibility, and pressure ratings for your application.

What thread type do your AN fittings use?

Our fittings use standard UNF (Unified National Fine) threads, which follow the AN (Army-Navy) sizing convention. Threads are precision-machined for leak-free, high-pressure performance and are compatible with most major AN-brand systems globally.

Are your fittings and hoses motorsport-tested?

Absolutely. Our fittings are track-tested and tuner-approved, used in real-world performance builds across South Africa.

What is the operating pressure rating for your hoses and fittings?

  • PTFE Hose: Up to 3,000 PSI

  • Stainless Braided Rubber Hose: Up to 1,000 PSI

  • Push-Loc Hose: Up to 250–300 PSI (max)
All AJM fittings are pressure-tested and CNC-machined from aerospace-grade aluminium for superior sealing and strength.

What’s the proper way to route and secure AN hose in a vehicle?

Avoid sharp bends, extreme heat exposure, and moving parts. Use rubber-lined P-clamps every 12–18 inches, and route away from exhaust and rotating components. Do not over-tighten or kink hoses.

Are AJM fittings compatible with E85, methanol, or aviation fuel?

Yes. Our PTFE hose and PTFE-compatible fittings are 100% resistant to ethanol, methanol, race fuels, and aviation fuel. Always confirm chemical compatibility for non-PTFE rubber hoses.

Can AJM fittings be welded to custom tanks or manifolds?

Yes. We offer aluminium weld-on AN bungs and adapters that can be TIG welded to fuel cells, catch cans, tanks, or manifolds. Only weld using proper technique and equipment suited for aluminium.
